Virtual Dementia Tour - Sergeant Bluff

Friendship Community Church

Experience what having dementia feels like through this interactive simulator and discussion Have you ever wondered what it feels like to have dementia? This one-of-a-kind learning opportunity allows you to just that. Virtual Dementia Tour Guides will safely alter your physical senses and ask you to complete some everyday tasks. The Tour enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face, and use the experience to provide better person-centered care. The Tour is perfect for individuals caring for those with a dementia diagnosis, whether it is a family member in the home or a patient in a healthcare setting. The Tour includes the dementia simulator, video presentation, and discussion. Tour participants are asked to reserve designated times when selecting a ticket option - please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled tour time. The video presentation will begin at 11:00am, so you may arrive earlier if you would like. AseraCare Hospice - Iowa and Connections Area Agency on Aging are partnering to host this unique event.
