Megan Dawson, who volunteers at our Pittsburgh location, began volunteering in college. “I’ve always enjoyed being active and helping out in my community, and my love of community service projects has carried over into my Military time as well with service projects like Habitat for Humanity,” she said. Megan decided to get involved with AseraCare after losing her Godfather to cancer in 2015. In the last month of his life, he was able to stay at a hospice house that had exceptional care for him and their family during such a tough time. Megan said, “Seeing the compassion and dedication of volunteers and full-time staff at the hospice house compelled me to give my time to help others through hospice.”

Thank you, Megan, for your service to our country and for your time as an AseraCare Vet-to-Vet volunteer. Learn more about our Volunteer program here.
